# Get your first useful report

> Choose a campaign, run a small report, and turn the result into a next step.

Start small. One website, a few keywords, and one market are enough to learn the workflow.

## 1. Choose your project

Open [GeoRanker SEO Tools](https://app.georanker.com) and sign in. Use the campaign selector at the top of the sidebar to choose the website you want to work on. If it is not listed, [create a campaign](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/campaign-getting-started).

Check the campaign before creating a report so your work stays with the right project.

## 2. Pick one question

For a first ranking check, open **Rank Tracker** and select **New Rank Tracker Report**. Enter your website, a few important keywords, a search engine, a device, and one location.

For a hotel website such as booking.com, you could track `hotels in New York` and `hotels in Chicago` in the United States. Use keywords your own customers would search.

Follow the [rank tracking setup guide](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/ranktracker), or [choose a different report](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/what-is-georanker).

## 3. Read the result

Wait for the report to finish before interpreting missing data. Open **Overview**, check the selected location and device, and inspect the keyword table.

Choose one next step: investigate a ranking drop, compare a competing page, or improve the page that should answer the search.

## 4. Decide whether to repeat it

For a report you will use regularly, [set up monitoring](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/start-a-monitor). Keep a one-off report unscheduled while you are exploring.

Find your work later in [Reports Library](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/dashboard). Save reusable terms in [Keyword Lists](https://docs.georanker.com/docs/keyword-lists).
